Ed’s become one of my best friends because we’re on tour together and we’re just always around each other. It’s been so amazing having him out on the road. If you’ve ever met him, you know he’s so easy to get along with. He’s so much fun. And he’s kind of like an eight-year-old and an eighty-year-old at the same time. Like, he loves to play with lego and he has this boyish sense of humor but he also has incredible advice and wisdom. So it’s been amazing working with him and having him on tour. This is a song I hadn’t played on this tour so far. It came from one of my friends who tweeted the lyrics today and it reminded me that I hadn’t played this song in about two years. It has to do with the fact that people talk about ghosts all the time. I just kind of imagine it being this supernatural thing, but there’s another kind of ghost and it’s just a person who is out there walking around in the world, just doesn’t love you anymore, that’s a whole different kind of thing altogether. I loved being able to thank my fans for this life they’ve given me. Being on tour, I get a nightly reminder of how lucky I am to get to stand on giant stages and sing for sold-out crowds. Now I have so many girls my age coming up to me and saying, “I’ve listened to you for seven years.” It’s crazy to me that we’ve been in each other’s lives that long and it still feels new. Oh, I think about the future a lot, that’s when I start to get very confused. Essentially you can’t make big decisions like ‘When am I gonna take a break? When am I going to start to slow down? When is my hair going to start to go grey? Am I going to dye it or am I going to let it go grey? How am I going to handle wrinkles?
You can’t make those decisions until you’re in that position. I’d like to think that in all aspects of my life I’ll know the right time to leave the party. But you can’t know when to leave the party until you’re in the room. Taylor Swift (X) +
